What is freight class, and why is it so important?
Freight class is the category of your freight defined by the National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA). Freight class is also referred to as NMFC (National Motor Freight Classification). Freight classes are assigned based on an evaluation of density, dimensions, ease of handling, and liability.�� LTL carriers use the NMFC to determine freight charges.
